Julie moved to Durango, Colorado in 1992 from Buffalo, New York.  She has a BA from Clark University in Worcester, MA.

In 2011 Julie completed the Leadership La Plata program where she facilitated a class on Health and Human Services. Julie comes to Sonas with a fresh heart and new experience working in the medical field.

She also works part-time at a local drug and alcohol rehabilitation clinic called Mind and Body Works as the office manager, where she is also procuring hours towards a Certificate in Addictions Counseling. Previously she worked at a waterblasting engineering company as a project manager and engineering assistant.

Julie believes in holistic, alternative type treatments and is excited to be getting back to her passion working with people seeking health and wellness at Sonas Integrative Medical Center.

In Julie’s off-time, she and her partner Orion have a household of rescued animals, including a dog named Chance, a cat named Joey and a parrot named Alex.  She is an amateur beekeeper, and believes in a spiritual connection to the earth. Her family is originally from Buffalo, NY, with big brothers in Washington, DC and Anchorage, Alaska.

Julie loves to travel – she and Orion have been to the Caribbean, Maui and have their eye towards visiting her aunt and uncle in Italy. Julie has been telemark skiing for 20 years, likes to float the Animas River in her kayak and likes to run trails with her dog on sunny, summer afternoons.
